<span id="Why-You-Should-Send-Review-Request-Emails-for-Your-Shopify-Products">Why You Should Send Review Request Emails for Your Shopify Products</span>
The reason is simple: 95% of customers look at reviews before making a purchase.
Reviews have a longer shelf life than social media posts or other brand activities. Consumers trust reviews because they know they are honest. It’s not a marketing team that is trying to sell to them. In fact, 83% of shoppers trust product reviews more than ads.
Product reviews can give your brand a reputation boost, which can help generate more revenue. Take Shopify Plus merchant Volant as an example here. They installed Loox on their Shopify store, and in just one year went from $0 to $2 million in revenue.
Daniel, co-founder of Volant said: “Loox is great because of its photo-first focus. We have a very visual product and Loox helps us show how good it looks and adds a ton of social proof. This is a game-changer for a business like ours.” And it might be for yours, too.
Actively asking for a review is not just good for collecting reviews. But also for the rating of the review itself.
When you ask for a review, it's more likely to be a good one. Compared to customers who are leaving reviews without being asked, statistics show that when asked for a review, customers are more likely to leave a higher rating. And isn’t that what you want?
<span id="What-Is-The-Best-Time-to-Send-Review-Request-Emails-to-Maximize-Reviews">What Is The Best Time to Send Review Request Emails to Maximize Reviews?</span>
When asking for product reviews, timing is everything. It’s the key to success.
Timing will vary from business to business, though.
If, for example, you offer an immediate product or service, you can ask customers shortly after their purchase. Your goods are still fresh in their minds. This works out great if you sell digital products or offer local services.
But if you’re selling physical goods, you need to wait a bit longer until you can ask for reviews. The products need to be shipped and you need to give your customers enough time to try them.
Our latest research shows that you’ll collect the most reviews by sending review request emails one OR three days after delivery.
Everything before and/or after that can decrease the number of reviews you’re collecting.
Depending on your logistic partner, you might not be able to send review request emails based on the delivery status. In that case, we recommend going with 14 days after fulfillment.
These data points can help you make a solid decision. But you also need to think about the context of your product.
Ask yourself “does it make sense to send this review request email at THAT time?”.
Selling fitness supplements, for example, might require a longer waiting time than phone accessories. Why? It takes a few weeks until a customer can tell if the supplement actually worked (or not).
That’s why you’ll find a dedicated timing option inside Loox.

While nearly everyone reads reviews to make a purchasing decision, only about 47% of people leave reviews. It’s your job to increase this number.
The good thing is that 72% of all shoppers said they will leave a product review if a business is asking them. But not all of them will do it immediately. Your customer’s life is not all about your business. So you need to remind them to leave a review.
If you don’t want to send review request reminder emails, you have the option to turn them off. For best results, we recommend keeping it on.
